Fans of Sir Ken Dodd have been asking when the comedian will have his funeral, following his death earlier this week.
The comedy legend passed away at his Liverpool home on Sunday March 11th at the age of 90.
It is believed he had been treated for a chest infection at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital for six weeks before being released from care two weeks ago, the Sun reported.
And now the creator of the Diddy Men has passed away, followers of the funny man have taken to Twitter to pay their respects.
These include celebrities such as fellow comedian Dara O Briain who tweeted: “He was an education to watch.”
He revealed that he had seen one of Dodd’s famous five-hour shows, and had drinks with him afterwards, adding: “[It was] a privilege, and a loss. RIP.”
John Challis, better known as Boycie from the legendary television series Only Fools and Horses, also tweeted: “So sorry to hear we have lost Kenn Dodd. I met him once and I’ve never forgotten it.”
While the date of the funeral has not been revealed yet, it is thought the ceremony will be held in Knotty Ash, a Liverpudlian suburb where Dodd lived his whole life.
Family and close celebrity friends are sure to attend, as well as his wife Anne Jones. The 76-year-old was with the performer for over 40 years, but only married the star two days before his death last Friday.
Despite his age, the comedian never slowed down and had planned a UK tour in 2018 entitled The Ken Dodd Happiness Show. He intended to perform in Wolverhampton and Bournemouth later this month, before finishing in July.
